Gotta Love Campy…

I just pulled one of my old crit bikes out of a corner of my garage – I’m riding more lately and I was thinking about fixing it up with the new SRAM gruppo. It’s always been a good bike – not the best in the world, but it handles well, its relatively light, and its bombproof. I built it up with a Campy Daytona 10-speed gruppo a long time ago.

Last night, I threw it up on the stand for the first time in over a year. I quickly cleaned the chain, lubed the cables, and ran it through all of the gears. It shifted flawlessly.

I rode it this morning, and it still shifted flawlessly. I didn’t even have to touch the barrel adjusters. 

So, I think I’ll postpone that new Gruppo for a few more years.
